An Extremely late review - Peaky Blinders- Episode 5
Right...i have established that this is an extremely late review/Summary of Peaky Blinders xD but it least i'm getting something done haha :')
Anyways , so! Peaky Blinders Episode 5 saw many thing's happen. Such as an IRA visiting Thomas , The Shelby's father making a visit , Arthur Committing suicide and also Thomas and Grace making love.
One of the Story lines that i found to stand out in this episode , was the return of Arthur Senior (Tommy Flanagan) , The Shelby Brothers father. The fact that Arthur Senior arrived without any caution , was clearly shown through the tension between him and Tommy and so revealed that he was an unlikable character.
Throughout the episode i had a huge amount of sympathy for Arthur Shelby , due to the fact that he really wanted to rekindle his relationship with his father , unlike the his brothers. And to one day run a casino , an idea conjured up by his selfish father.
Sympathy was further created towards Arthur , lets say Arthur Junior, as his father asked him for a huge amount of money , which would enable them to start 'their' business. This unfortunately was incredibly unlikely. We soon realise that Arthur Senior runs off with the money , leaving poor Arthur Junior behind. There were also a couple of fight scenes between Arthur S and Arthur J , in which made me hate A Senior even more. At one point , they begin to fight surrounded by men and at first Arthur J see's it as a playful fight! But his father has other plans and humiliates his son. Underlying tension and hatred is suggested through the way in which Arthur's father beats up his own son , only to them confuse Arthur by declaring him the winner , showing the evil and tormented side that Arthur Senior has.
This betrayal formed by Arthur Junior's father , in turn, resulted in Arthur trying to commit suicide. However , This was unsuccessful and the rope snaps , much to Arthur's disappointment and relief. This was clearly suggesting a sign of fate , as Arthur couldn't possibly die just yet! not until series 2 or 3 or 4 is over , perhaps? haha xD.
The love scene between Thomas and Grace was also a pivotal moment in the episode and also much anticipated by the Thomas and Grace fans (Not sure if such fans have made up a stupid name for them yet :L Thace? Gracmas? mmm relevant to the season..yeah haha) The love scene , was indeed beautifully filmed! as most scenes including Thomas and Grace, individually or together, usually are. It was also shown after a brawl with the IRA etc and so passion ,in a sense, was conveyed well through the actors after/due the traumatic situation. However i found it difficult to know if Grace truly loved Tommy during this scene , due to the fact that i found it slightly difficult to read her.
Sadly , i have a feeling Episode 5 is no longer available on the BBC Iplayer! But the boxset is available from Amazon etc.
Hope you kind of enjoyed this :)! haha x
I will try and get a review for the Finale written soon ;D!
P.S Constructive criticism is welcome! I would love to know what you guys think about my writing and what i could improve on! it would be a great help :) Thank you x

The Originals - Series 1 - Episode 1 - Review :)!
Another quick/rushed review..thing :')!
When i first found out that there was going to a spin-off to The Vampire Diaries , i couldn't contain my excitement. The fact that it was also going to based upon the 'The Original Family' , the Mikaelson's , primarily being Rebekah , Klaus and Elijah made it even more interesting . This is because it would enable us to learn more about their past and the problems that they currently face, such as Klaus and his little werewolf 'hiccup'.
Although some aspects of the show are similar to that of 'The Vampire Diaries' , this obviously being the characters (and also the logo), it is nowhere near the same. This show seems to be darker more..grown up! The way in which it is filmed is mildly different as well , which i like!.
The first episode revisited 'The Originals' episode of The Vampire Diaries , which was the pilot for the spin off show. The first episode however , was shown through Elijah's eyes. I really liked the way in which Elijah showed such compassion towards Hayley and her unborn child. Although i'm not a huge fan of Hayley , mainly because she clearly didn't see the consequences of her actions :L!..i may warm to her because of the fact that Elijah likes her. I found the whole 'protecting the child' thing to be a little strange..but when you realise that all Elijah wants is a family , you sympathize for him and therefore urge Klaus to cooperate and accept his unborn child. Klaus finally does towards the end of the episode , stating that 'Every King needs an heir' which i found very powerful.
I know this is a short post...but overall , i really liked 'The Originals'. Even though i had basically seen it before (through the pilot) , the fact that it was through Elijah's eyes made it that little more engaging. The way it is filmed is also different , creating a more dark and unsettling atmosphere. I am definitely a fan..why wouldn't i be? ;D
The Originals-CW-WATCH IT ^_^!

The Vampire Diaries - Season 5 - Episode 1- Review :)!
This is just going to be a quick review/recap/my own opinions, on the first episode episode of Season 5 of The vampire Diaries ^_^.
Firstly and unfortunately ..i can only say that i was satisfied with this episode :S as much as i want to say it was 'amazingly brilliant', it was just 'good' :L haha i don't know if it was just me and the mood that i was in when i watched it or the fact that i haven't watched the show for a few months! I felt as though there wasn't a huge 'wow factor'! Anyways ..on a positive note! i am happy that it's back on WOO! :D
I have to say, this episode definitely contained more 'sex appeal' and humour. Which was a good thing compared to the previous episodes ,which were quite upsetting. This is due to the first few scenes including Elena and Damon in bed and surprisingly, Matt and Rebecca in bed in 'Amsterdam or was it Prague? i can't keep track'.. with another woman. The humour was mainly given through Damon amd his many sarcastic remarks, which made me laugh.
I also liked the way that Silas was portrayed within the episode, as being evil yet cheeky! slightly similar to Damon's character, to some extent (it may have been the smile). Although i didn't really like the fact that he killed Bonnie's dad..that was unfair! But dare i say , i think i actually prefer Silas to Stefan O_o (Even though i like all the characters!).
On the note of Stefan , i did however sympathize with him due to the fact that he is being kept in a safe underwater , constantly drowning each time he awakens (I couldn't help but think of Torch Wood , even though Captain Jack was buried in earth for so many years...but yes). I thought the scenes were quite interesting , especially the initial scene of seeing Stefan in the Safe. We first see Elena in Damon's bath , she mentions about Stefan and contemplates calling him. Instead she stops herself and slides down under the water , to which it then cleverly turns to Stefan , as though they are back to back.
I also liked the way in which Elena seemed happier and that her and Caroline were getting along. I am upset about Bonnie.. but the way in which she acts, especially around Jeremy, ensured me that she was ok..sort of. I also found the 'human' Katherine quite entertaining to watch , as you could tell she was far weaker and vulnerable.
Overall, I liked the episode and the way in which certain characters , like Silas , were portrayed. The humour and obvious sex appeal made the episode more grown up and entertaining, which in turn balanced out the more unsettling scenes , such as seeing Stefan in the safe and also the gruesome murder of Bonnie's father.

Peaky Blinders - Episode 4 review :)!
*contains spoilers
Okay , so i think this has to be the best episode so far! ;D and that's saying something!!
Peaky Blinders just gets better and better!....I feel as though this weeks episode definitely allowed us to get to know and understand more about the characters (and their problems) such as John , Tommy and Inspector Chester Campbell, to some extent. I was very intrigued to find that the episode didn't focus on one particular individual or couple , such as Grace or Tommy , which dare i say...was a nice change (I do love the developing connection between them though!).
This weeks episode saw many things happen ! For instance ,The Lee's taking revenge , John's urge to provide a mother for his four children, a kiss between Tommy and Grace (Finally! ;D) and of course Ada giving birth to a son.
I also found that the episode contained far more humour than the previous ones , making it even more likable as you can relate to the cheeky humor and banter exchanged between a family (Because who doesn't have an inside joke within their family or mock a relatives 'naive' actions? :L). Such humour was shown in the scene between John , Tommy , Aunt Polly and Arthur in which John declares that he is to marry Lizzie , 'the woman whose never done a days work vertical' and who had served Tom for two years. Although the scene was of a touching matter for John , due to the fact that you find out that he had lost his wife during the war , i couldn't help but laugh at the witty remarks Aunt Polly gave towards his proposal to Lizzie.
Contrasting heavily to the Humourous scenes , I couldn't help but shiver at the dark and disturbing scenes within this episode. Such disturbing scenes, as the apparent tortured corpse of Stanley Chapman and the tense meeting between Tommy and Inspector Chester Campbell. The scene between the two men was indeed disturbing , mainly because the inspector explains to Tommy the explicit execution of his family that could occur , if Campbell is to be dismissed because of Tommy. He explains in detail , ideas of Rape (towards young Finn) and beating his family to death 'with mallets and spades' , Ada's baby would also 'be of of no consequence' to him. And this i found , revealed a very twisted and vicious side to the inspector , one that i didn't like. (#teampeakyblinders all the way ;3!).
Overall , I enjoyed this episode very much and although it was different through the way in which it allowed us to see more of the characters and contained more humour , i did like how it was contrasted with darker scenes.

Peaky Blinders - Episode 3 review :)!
Wow! yet another wonderful episode of Peaky Blinders! it just never fails to impress does it?. haha :')
This weeks episode primarily saw Tommy and Grace visiting the races. I particularly liked this episode due to the fact that it allowed us to see more of the characters , especially Grace. We usually see her working in the pub and it was a nice change to see her venturing out and giving us an understanding of how she thinks when on her own.
The connection between Tommy and Grace is also heightened and heavily presented within the episode , as they spend their time together at the races. Grace acting as 'eye-candy' for Billy Kimber (Charlie Creed-Miles) and Tommy the negotiator/peace keeper/i'm going to be more powerful than you-er, as he gives kimber the money 'rescued from the Lee Brothers'.
There were many scenes that showed a connection between Grace and Tommy , as the use of flirtatious remarks and awkward silences revealed that the connection is forming well. They are almost compatible as opposites , in the sense that they balance each other out. Grace is represented as an innocent looking but 'strong minded' woman and Tommy a confident , handsome and strong man.. yet underneath bares the fatal scars of war. We can clearly see this in the scene between Tommy and his loyal friend Danny Whizz-bang (Samuel Edward-Cook) as Tommy reveals the ways in which his mind plays tricks on him , allowing him to hear 'the shovels' against the wall as he lays in bed at night.
Carrying on from the idea that Grace is a 'strong minded' woman , it is clear to see that all the woman within the Peaky Blinders are represented as strong female characters , which i obviously admire. Within this episode , i couldn't help but see Grace being represented as a 'Femme Fatale'. The way in which she attracts men with her innocent appearance and charismatic Irish charms. The fact that she wore a red dress to the races may also reveal her dangerous side and possibly suggesting the previous murder that she had committed , perhaps?.
There was also a lot of tension within this episode , especially between Tommy and Freddy ****ing Thorne. Freddy declares his true love for Tommy's sister Ada and how they will not leave the city. It is clear that Tommy only wants whats best for his sister and now that she could be arrested for just being with Freddy , Tommy has even more on his plate.
The overall cinematic style of this episode was beautiful , thanks to Otto Bathurst's direction and George Steel's cinematography. I especially liked the scene in which you see Grace and Tommy preparing themselves for the races as it was incredibly..well..beautiful.
Anyways... i could go on and on! Although I've spoken more about the connection between Grace and Tommy and probably missed out on some vital scenes! (which wasn't exactly my intention) it doesn't matter! Because you all need to watch PEAKY BLINDERS! Thursday on BBC 2 , 9pm :)

BBC Two - Peaky Blinders - Review :)
This is going to be a quick review about the first two episodes of the what i believe , is a very 'gritty' yet beautifully made period crime drama. Similar to 'What Remains'! When i first saw the trailer for 'Peaky Blinders' i instantly took a fancy to the music and overall style of the programme , and knew that i had to watch it. As i have a soft spot for Period drama's, be it involving a lot of crime or love triangles such as Parade's end and Birdsong , i am always fascinated at how earlier life is depicted through such well made programmes.
The overall feel of Episode 1 created a mixture of various emotions for me , as the strong connection that the Shelby family have was very satisfying. I also had a lot of sympathy towards Tommy and his friend who were clearly damaged by the war , by one extent or the other. And i was very interested (And slightly jealous ;) ) at the strange connection between Tommy and Grace (Annabelle Wallis) , who you soon find is spying for Inspector Campbell (Sam Neill) . And so she must get close to Tommy in order to find out where the guns are being kept.
Episode 2 , was even more alluring , especially with the forbidden romance between Ada and Freddie ****ing Thorn ;D I admired Tommy even more in this, as his passion to protect his sister was clearly shown. So far Tommy is my favourite character due to the fact that i find him so mysterious but also very caring. He thinks of others and protects those he loves , yet he can also do the reverse by beating people up and blinding them with his lethal cap ( as razor blades were sewn into the peak of their caps , hence PEAKY BLINDERS! , Clever isn't it?).
When i found out that the 'Peaky Blinders' were a real gang , i was even more intrigued as to watch the Show . As i stated before i am fascinated at watching programmes that depict earlier life in either the most wonderful or gruesome ways.
P.s Sorry this may seemed rushed , i was in a hurry for work :)!.

BBC One's - What Remains - Review :)
*Contains Spoilers!
I found BBC One's 'What Remains' to be a very interesting and clever crime-drama, indeed (Even if it was only 4 episodes). Although I'm not usually a huge crime-drama fan (I did go through a massive phase of CSI though , does that count :L?) ..since BroardChurch and possibly even Ripper Street , i have decided to branch out and watch more programmes of this genre. As soon as i saw the trailer for 'What Remains' i knew i had to watch at least one episode....this maybe due to the fact that Russell Tovey and Alex Arnold were starring in it, and as i have watched every series of both Being Human and Skins , i just had to check it out ;D.
The first episode was obviously quite dark, as a young couple expecting a baby , find the 'Remains' of a body in the attic above their new flat. From what i can remember , when watching the episode i felt both disturbed and intrigued as to why a body had been left to decay in the attic of No 8 Coulthard Street , without anyone realising that the woman (whose body it was) had been missing for 2-3 years. A strong character within the series emerges in the form of detective Len Harper (David Threlfall) , who starts to uncover and piece together the mysterious death of the now known , Melissa Young (Jennifer Gunning).
As the crime-drama develops , we start to see that some of the flat-owners at No 8 Coulthard street have a very dark streak to them. For instance , we find that the math's teacher Joe sellers (which i found ironic as he lives in the basement flat :L), had been holding a previous student , Liz , in his flat for around 5 years. As well as a teenager called Adam Moss (Alex Arnold), who seemed to have a strange infatuation with his father's partner , Patricia. This in turn , leads to everyone having some involvement or blame for the murder of Melissa and because of this many more bodies followed.
Towards the end , when you thought you had figured it all out , it changes...again. And this is why i found What Remains to be very clever. Because of each character having a dark side , it was quite hard to piece together who could have done it (at first). But once you find out , you realise that everything fits together like a jigsaw puzzle.
For me , the final episode was obviously the best episode out of the four. It was quite fast paced , full of suspense and disturbing as you realise who had killed Melissa. Emotions of Sadness swept through me when i found that one of characters gets killed by their partner , only to discover that they were involved in the murder..which was quite shocking. And i was also saddened by the expectant mother finding out that her partner had slept with Liz (the woman held by sellers).
The last few minutes of the finale were incredibly good and almost 'action packed' as the now mother of a baby girl , Vidya , discovers the body of one of the flat-owners , as well as an injured Len Harper. It's now cat and mouse as Vidya hides from the killer , along with her baby, in the attic of the house. As the killer nears closer , Vidya attacks and pushes the murderer down the opening of the attic. As the killer gets up , an arrow pierces their chest , by a life threateningly injured Len Harper.
The overall ending is clearly quite saddening , as you see Len dying and Vidya holding him and her baby. This is contrasted though by the resolvement of Melissa's tragic murder. This therefore brought an incredibly dramatic ending to the four part series.
Although i felt like some of the characters involvements had just been cut off, such as Adam's infatuation with Patricia and the relationship between Vidya and her baby's father. I can only say that i was thoroughly satisfied with this short crime-drama and everyone that was involved in making the characters seem so sadistic and sinister.
IT'S A MUST WATCH! :)

MY FIRST BLOG POST EVER..SO BE NICE HAHA ;D!!
HELLOOOO! so yes...this is my first blog post ever! I'd thought i would start my blog off with something simple...this being my current favourite songs and artists ^_^. Although my blog portrays itself as being about 'films' etc , as i state in my intro , i will also talk about TV series , music and various other creative and artsy stuff :)!.
Soooo...My current favourite songs and artists at this moment in time, is a Canadian indie rock band known as 'Half Moon Run'.
Apart from adoring the whole album known as 'Dark Eyes' , so far my favourite songs from the band have to be 'Full Circle' , 'Call Me In The Afternoon' and 'She Wants To Know'. For me , their music is incredibly relaxing and beautiful as the use of drums , piano , guitar , violins , the rather unique vocals and various other instruments (if there are anymore :L) creates a very intriguing atmosphere. The songs can also create an almost dark/mysterious atmosphere and this may be seen through 'She wants to know', which is one reason why i like this band so much.

I have never really been into extremely 'happy' songs (i know , depressing isn't it? haha) and i have always been tempted by songs with somewhat sad melodies , as i believe the songs sound more beautiful and passionate.
So if you are like me! and prefer bands of a more indie rock genre :) check out HALF MOON RUN and i assure you...you will not be disappointed and if you are...then there is something wrong with you ;) haha i'm joking! ^_^
HAVE FUN AND HAPPY LISTENING :D!! XX
