Okay , so i think this has to be the best episode so far! ;D and that's saying something!!
Peaky Blinders just gets better and better!....I feel as though this weeks episode definitely allowed us to get to know and understand more about the characters (and their problems) such as John , Tommy and Inspector Chester Campbell, to some extent. I was very intrigued to find that the episode didn't focus on one particular individual or couple , such as Grace or Tommy , which dare i say...was a nice change (I do love the developing connection between them though!).
This weeks episode saw many things happen ! For instance ,The Lee's taking revenge , John's urge to provide a mother for his four children, a kiss between Tommy and Grace (Finally! ;D) and of course Ada giving birth to a son.
I also found that the episode contained far more humour than the previous ones , making it even more likable as you can relate to the cheeky humor and banter exchanged between a family (Because who doesn't have an inside joke within their family or mock a relatives 'naive' actions? :L). Such humour was shown in the scene between John , Tommy , Aunt Polly and Arthur in which John declares that he is to marry Lizzie , 'the woman whose never done a days work vertical' and who had served Tom for two years. Although the scene was of a touching matter for John , due to the fact that you find out that he had lost his wife during the war , i couldn't help but laugh at the witty remarks Aunt Polly gave towards his proposal to Lizzie.
Contrasting heavily to the Humourous scenes , I couldn't help but shiver at the dark and disturbing scenes within this episode. Such disturbing scenes, as the apparent tortured corpse of Stanley Chapman and the tense meeting between Tommy and Inspector Chester Campbell. The scene between the two men was indeed disturbing , mainly because the inspector explains to Tommy the explicit execution of his family that could occur , if Campbell is to be dismissed because of Tommy. He explains in detail , ideas of Rape (towards young Finn) and beating his family to death 'with mallets and spades' , Ada's baby would also 'be of of no consequence' to him. And this i found , revealed a very twisted and vicious side to the inspector , one that i didn't like. (#teampeakyblinders all the way ;3!).
Overall , I enjoyed this episode very much and although it was different through the way in which it allowed us to see more of the characters and contained more humour , i did like how it was contrasted with darker scenes.
